Over 50 million metric tons of e-waste
According to the United Nations, in 2020 over 50 million metric tons of e-waste have been discarded worldwide. An amount which has annually grown in recent years due to an increased access to technologies, and the throw-away culture promoted by electronics manufacturers, encouraging consumers and businesses to throw away their old devices to make way for the latest technological innovations.
